HOW DOES ALL THIS WORK?

What does the session fee really go towards?

Our time together is more than a business transaction; the session fee is the cost of our time together which is the first step to the entire photoshoot experience. It covers the value of a thoughtfully curated experience with me, from a custom studio setup or a beautiful location that I scout specifically for your vision, down to the details of your family that I will intentionally freeze in time. Not only does the fee cover my time, experience and artistry but it also includes high resolution digital images in a quantity that is tailored to the package you choose.

What is a retainer?

The retainer requirement for all packages is a down payment towards your session fee. The retainer is required to reserve the date and time of your session which ensures my availability exclusively for you! It allows me to begin preparing for your session as well as organize the rest of my calendar for the opportunity to work with others as well. The retainer is applied to your total session fee with your remaining balance due 24 hours prior to our time together. Because the session fee covers our time together, failure to pay the remainder of session fee will result in a delay or cancellation of editing your images. Because of the time, effort and planning that goes into each session, retainers are nonrefundable.

How do the proof galleries work?

After our session, I will upload your entire gallery and hand pick all the best images from our time together. I lightly edit each image, watermark them and upload them into a proof gallery that is emailed to you. From there you will create a "favorites list" of all the images that you love, ranging from the quantity that is included with your package to any additional images you like that exceed the package quantity. Once you have chosen the images you want, I will make the final touches in editing and send your final gallery over in a new download link. The images remain watermarked on your gallery to discourage screenshots being that the gallery link contains previews of your images and the actual high resolution photos lie behind those previews and are only accessible through downloading, When you download your high resolution images, the watermark will automatically come off once you save them.

Can I purchase more images than what is included with my package?

Absolutely, yes! You can purchase additional images outside of the quantity that is included with your package for $5 each. I will also offer discounts on bundles such as 10 extra images, 15 extra images, etc. as well as offering a discount to purchase your entire gallery. The cost of your full gallery is dependent on the number of images that it ends up containing which varies by session.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel my session?

I get it, it happens!

If you need to reschedule, I ask that you try to do so 48 hours prior to our session to avoid the rescheduling fee that is in place to prevent wasted efforts towards planning and setup commitments. With proper notice, I will transfer your retainer! If you reschedule after the 48 hour mark for reasons outside of illness, inclement weather or emergency, there is a $50 rescheduling fee that will be added to the back end of your balance. If you don't show up to your session with no notice or communication, you will be billed a $50 cancellation fee that is due upon receipt. Retainers are otherwise nonrefundable- cancelling your session at the last minute or not showing up at all will not yield getting your retainer back. I am an understanding person, so I will do my best to work with you and your circumstances should we need to reschedule our time together to a later date!

How long will it take to get my gallery?

The average turnaround time for proof galleries is up to 3 weeks. I do try to send a sneak peek prior to curb your excitement! Once you have chosen the images you want from your proof gallery, it takes me an additional week on average to make the final editing touches and deliver your final gallery. Should my turnaround time extend at any time, I will communicate that either at our session or prior to the 2-3 week proof expectation deadline.

For weddings, elopements and other large events, you will receive a sneak peek gallery within 4 weeks of our time together with the average turnaround time for your full, unlimited gallery being 8 weeks.
